Do I need Post-licensing or Continuing Education?
In Nevada,  post-licensing (Post) and continuing education (CE) are not the same. Post is designed for new, first year licensees who were not licensed in another state at the time of application. A first-year licensee can be exempt and instead can complete CE if you:

  • Held a real estate license from another U.S. state on the date you obtained your Nevada license;

  • Previously held a Nevada real estate license within the last 5 years; or

  • Are licensed as a  Nevada broker-salesperson or broker.
ABC Real Estate School offers Continuing Education and not Post-licensing. We have the online portion – the required topics!

The Requirements: 

  • Real Estate licenses are valid for 2 years following the first year renewal.
  • 36 hours of continuing education is required to be submitted to the Division at renewal.
  • At least 18 of the required 36 hours must be taken through live instruction.

Salesperson
The education requirement for a salesperson is as follows:

  • 3 hours Agency
  • 6 hours Contracts
  • 3 hours Ethics
  • 3 hours Law & Legislation
  • 3 hours Risk Reduction
  • 18 Hours General (Business Broker permit holders must include the 3 hours of CE for permit renewal; Property Management permit holders must include 9 hours of CE for permit renewal)

Broker/Broker-Salesperson
The education requirement for a broker or broker-salesperson is as follows:

  • 3 hours Agency
  • 6 hours Contracts
  • 3 hours Ethics
  • 3 hours Law & Legislation
  • 3 hours Risk Reduction
  • 6 hours Broker Management
  • 12 Hours General (Business Broker permit holders must include the 3 hours of CE for permit renewal; Property Management permit holders must include 9 hours of CE for permit renewal)

Business Broker Permit Holder

  • 3 hours of Business Broker Continuing Education.

Property Management Permit Holder

  • 9 hours of Property Management Continuing Education.

Licensees who are 65 or older and have been licensed in Nevada for 30 years or more
Licensees who are 65 years or older and have been licensed in Nevada in good standing for 30 years or more may apply for an exemption to complete a reduced number of CE credits required for renewal. Below is the requirement:

  • 3 hours Agency
  • 3 hours Law & Legislation
  • 3 hours Contracts
  • 3 hours Ethics
  • 3 hours Broker Management (for Brokers and Broker-salespeople)

Packages
Our continuing education packages include all required topics (Agency, Legislative Update, Contracts, Ethics, Risk Reduction and Broker Management). Our courses will satisfy the statutory topics and the maximum number of hours that can be completed by distance education. After completing our package, a licensee will also need to attend a live classroom course for 50% of the hours. The live classroom coursework must be approved by the Real Estate Commission, but can be any topic, since the designated topics will already be satisfied with these packages.
