Want Both a California and Nevada Real Estate License?

Here’s how to plan your path:

• If you want the fastest route:
  Start with the Nevada 120-hour pre-licensing course. It’s quicker to complete than California’s process. Once licensed in Nevada, you can begin working while you finish California’s requirements.
  (Keep in mind—this won’t waive any of California’s required courses.)

• If you want to save money and plan ahead:

  1. Enroll in the 3-course California salesperson package, choosing Legal Aspects of Real Estate as your third course.

  2. Sign up for 18 hours of Nevada Law for Nevada licensing.

  3. Once you’re licensed in California, you’ll only need to pass the Nevada state portion of the exam—no need to complete Nevada’s 30-hour contracts and agency course.

  If you pass the California exam but haven’t yet been licensed, remember the exam is valid for one year. Within that time, you’ll only need to pass the state-specific portion of the Nevada exam.
